About Our Savior'sFounded in 1869, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Norse is located near Clifton, Texas, the Norwegian Capital of Texas. As a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is a welcoming congregation for all ages. Led by Pastor Ryan Pederson, we seek to meet the spiritual needs of our members through worship, Bible Study, and fellowship — equipping and empowering congregants for Christian lives of faith, active in love.

Meet Pastor Ryan Pederson
Growing up just down the road in the Bee Hill community, Pastor Ryan Pederson returned to Our Savior's Lutheran in June 2022 to lead our congregation. With vivid memories of church activities and trips to his grandparents' Crossroads Grocery store for BBQ, Pastor Ryan attended Clifton schools where he graduated from Clifton High School.
Upon completing his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin, Pastor Ryan attended the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest in Austin and was ordained in 2009. While in seminary, he married his wife, Lilia Martinez in 2007. During his first call as pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen Texas, Pastor Ryan and Lilia had their two sons, Abel and William. At this time, he also completed a master's degree in English from The University of Texas at Brownsville.
In 2014, Pastor Ryan and Lilia moved the family to Waco where he is in the final stages of completing a Ph.D. in English at Baylor University. He currently serves St. Olaf Lutheran Church as interim pastor as well as serving Our Savior's Lutheran.
