Ladies Aid
Ladies Aid at Our Savior's can be traced back to 1895, when Mrs. Clara Froshaug invited a few friends to her home for coffee. At the suggestion of her husband, Dr. L.J. Froshaug, the Norse Kvinderforening (Ladies Society) was organized. Reverend Rystad, who had a keen sense of humor, predicted it might well become just a Sladderforening, that is, a gossip society. The Ladies Aid continues to be a very active group and meets the third Wednesday of each month with a Bible Study and planning of events. They are involved in many missions such as Quilts for Lutheran World Relief, Backpacks for Lutheran World Relief, Baby Care and Personal Care Kits and support for the Clifton Ministerial Alliance. |
Men's Club
The Norse Men's Club is an active gathering of men that includes several events throughout the year such as Hamburger Lunch, Chicken Dinner, and Breakfast on Easter Sunday. The Men's Club dates back to November 14, 1933, when the Reverend P. E. Thorson called a meeting for the men of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at the Church Hall. The intention was to organize a Men’s Club to foster Christian fellowship among the men of the community. |
